27 Mar ‘Unbeatable’ Kung Fu Master Takes On MMA Fighter, But The Results Have Divided Opinion

When you claim to be the descendant of Ip Man, the most notorious wing chun teacher in history, you need to be able to prove it. Responsible for teaching Hollywood icon, Bruce Lee, Ip Man is something of a legend in the world of martial arts. So you’d expect any descendant of his to be capable of holding his own in a fight.

But that wasn’t the case when Ding Hao stepped up to fight 39-year-old MMA fighter, Xu Xiaodong. Despite claiming to be “unbeatable” the Kung Fu master was left red-faced and a little dazed after just three-rounds with Xu, who managed to knock down the alleged descendant of Ip Man a total of six times.

This isn’t the first time that Xu has managed to wipe the floor with a martial arts “master”, just under a year ago he knocked out a self-proclaimed tai chi master as part of his mission to prove that traditional Chinese martial arts are a “scam”.

From this fight, it would certainly appear that he is proving that effortlessly…

Barely able to land a single punch, Ding looks embarrassingly amateurish in Xu’s shadow which looms over him continuously throughout the fight. Despite Xu’s clear victory, the referee declared the fight a tie, which only aggravated those who followed it even further.

According to Ding’s master, Yu Changhua, the clip going viral online doesn’t truly represent the fight as it happened. “Ding Hao was in a good mood. He was playing and was not injured. It is estimated that Xu Xiaodong’s injury was even worse than he,” he told Shanghai Great Sports.

Once Xu has denounced all Chinese martial arts disciplines, maybe he will step in the ring with Irish MMA icon, Conor McGregor. Now that’s a match that would be in no doubt.
