The 11 Foods The Queen Insists On Eating Every Single Day

Most of us assume the Queen’s eating habits must be extravagant. I’m thinking imported caviar and complicated five-star dishes served on only the most extravagant of gold and silver plates. In reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth!

The queen is actually quite frugal and health conscious, which shouldn’t be surprising considering she’s 91 years old! So how does she keep herself in top form? Check out the list below to see the Queen’s top 11 foods:

1. Tea

This one’s a no-brainer. The Queen is British, after all, and everyone knows British people pretty much drink tea all day long. The Queen likes a piping hot cuppa each morning, usually Earl Grey or Darjeeling, with a selection of biscuits and cookies on the side.

2. Cereal

To start her day, the Queen usually opts for a simple bowl of cereal. Yes, that’s right, you and the queen are probably eating the same thing each morning. However, she doesn’t go for Fruit Loops or Cocoa Pebbles, but instead thoroughly enjoys a nice bowl of Special K.

The Queen loves her Special K so much that she’s even gone as far as giving Kellogg’s, the company that makes the cereal, a Royal Warrant, which makes them an official provider of goods to the Royal Court.

Check out the video below to find out about a restaurant hidden away in rural Maine that specializes in following Queen Victoria’s exact and very particular dining rules:

3. Scrambled Eggs

Everyone likes a nice scramble now and then, and that includes the Queen. When she tires of her Special K, she’ll opt for some scrambled eggs, occasionally with some smoked salmon or fresh truffles.

“She was too frugal to ever order fresh truffles,” Darren Grady, a former Royal chef revealed. “She only really enjoyed them at Christmas when the truffles were sent as a gift.”

4. Strawberries

The Queen hasn’t become the longest reigning British monarch by eating junk food. In fact, she’s a bit of a health nut and rather than indulging a sweet tooth with candy, she reaches for fruit instead.

While the Queen enjoys all sorts of berries, such as the gooseberries and raspberries that grow at Balmoral Castle, which a sort of Royal Vacation home in Scotland, the Queen’s favorite fruit is the strawberry.
