Getting divorced is never easy for anyone, but it can be particularly difficult when you’re in the public eye.

It is especially difficult in this modern age of heavy social media usage – the idea that people all over the world could be talking about what is most likely one of the most upsetting and stressful things you will go through in your life must be incredibly difficult to deal with.

Last week, Donald Trump Jr.’s wife, Vanessa Haydon Trump, filed for divorce in Manhattan Supreme Court. It had been reported by some publications that their marriage, which had lasted 12 years, was on the rocks so few people were surprised by the announcement.

The announcement came just a few weeks after Vanessa Trump was rushed to hospital after opening a letter addressed to Don Jr. containing “white powder”:

“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways,” the pair said in a joint statement. “We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”

One person who certainly wasn’t surprised by the separation was retired model, Melissa Stretton.
