Eva’s unconventional decision to morph into a reptile came in 1997. Then a vice-president of one of America’s leading banks, Eva was living as Richard Hernandez. A proud gay man, Eva’s life was turned upside down after being diagnosed with HIV.

“Before my transformation I was vice president of one of the largest banks in the U.S. and I left when because I became HIV positive and feared I was going to die,” Eva explained, before adding: “My big thing though was I didn’t want to die in this world looking like a human.”
