21 Feb Honor Student Threatened With Arrest For “Violating” High School Dress Code
Walking at your high school graduation is a moment that you cherish for the rest of your life. Your childhood is officially over, and you’re ready to explore everything that the adult world has to offer – whether that involves going to college or into full-time employment.
But one teen has been denied this right, despite having a 4.4 GPA, because she wore a top that violated her school’s dress code.
The teen in question is called Summer, and she was a senior at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, North Carolina.
She flew in the face of her school’s extremely conservative dress code policy when she decided to wear a green off the shoulder top to school last week. Knowing that it was a relatively risque choice, she made sure that her shoulders were as covered up as possible.
However, her top soon caught the attention of staff at the school who asked her to change it. She had nothing to change into, and, despite a friend giving her a jacket to cover herself up with, the situation eventually escalated to the point where she was threatened with arrest.

Instead of being arrested, however, the bright pupil ended up being suspended for ten days and banned from walking at her graduation.
