I am hot off proposing to my girlfriend of seven years, so I can attest to just how nerve-wracking it is to finally take the plunge and ask the person you love if they’re willing to be with you until you die. Very often it is the duty of the man in the relationship to get down on one knee and pop the question to the woman (except on February 29th, when women can break the social norms).

However, with marriage now being available to gay and lesbian couples in many countries across the world, I can only imagine the confusion involved about who will be the one to propose.

But one thing’s for sure, you know the time is right when both people in the relationship propose at the EXACT SAME TIME.

On Saturday, during an intense family game of Pictionary, Tori Monaco got down on one knee and asked her girlfriend of a year to marry her. But in a wonderful twist, her new fiancée, Berkley Cade, also pulled out an engagement ring and got down on one knee too.

And the best part? Neither of them had any idea what the other was up to!

In an interview with Mashable, Monaco revealed, “It was a complete surprise!”

Cade had bought her engagement ring back in September, and wanted to use the family get-together in Washington as the perfect place to propose. However, knowing that Cade had always wanted to be the one to eventual pop the question, Monaco had purchased a ring last month and intended to surprise her.
