Amy Schumer Says She Was “Flat-Out Raped” When She Was A Teenager

Funnywoman Amy Schumer has never been one to beat around the bush when it comes to discussing her life, her relationships, and her views. But usually, when she talks about such things, they tend to be pretty light. Sometimes, however, she delves into much darker territories.

In fact, in a new interview, Amy Schumer revealed that she was raped as a teenager. She also made reference to the allegations surrounding fellow comic Aziz Ansari. As most of you will know, Ansari has been accused of sexual misconduct and Schumer believes what he allegedly did was “not acceptable”.

She made these comments during an appearance on Katie Couric’s podcast when she stated that she was “flat-out raped” during her late teen years.

“My first sexual experience was not a good one,” Schumer recalled. “I didn’t think about it until I started reading my journal again. When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, ‘And then I looked down and realized he was inside of me.’ He was saying, ‘I’m so sorry’, and, ‘I can’t believe I did this.’”

The comedian and actress had written about her first sexual experience in her autobiography The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo and described it as being non-consensual.

Take a look at Amy Schumer discussing the incident in greater detail on The Howard Stern Show:

Schumer also remarked that this was not the last time that she’d had a non-consensual sexual encounter with a man. “There are just so many factors. I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying: ‘No, stop’ and it was just completely ignored,” she said.
