Most of us can remember our first celebrity crush. Usually, it’s when we are in our early teens that we find ourselves doe-eyed over someone at least twice our age, who makes every person who we could potentially date pale in comparison to their glory.

We have no qualms about making our admiration known – plastering our bedrooms with countless posters and photographs of their face. Celebrity crushes aren’t something that we grow out of either, even when we’re older and have partners of our own.

My first memorable celebrity crush was a young, boyish Leonardo DiCaprio. Needless to say, I saw Titanic as a preteen and fell in love (or so I thought) with Jack Dawson – the penniless artist he played. I told my friends and they agreed that he was gorgeous.

However, my subsequent crushes (like the immortal David Bowie) have not been met with the same levels of enthusiasm. But then again, a friend of mine once confessed to having a thing for Bill Nighy who, at the time, was about 40 years older than her.

The great thing about celebrity crushes is that well have them. They’re easy to admit to because very few people actually end up dating their famous crush – Kate Middleton was an exception. She had a poster of Prince William on her wall as a teen and married the king-to-be!
