Female Gang Member’s Mugshot Goes Viral As People Dub Her The New “Hot Felon”

They say that crime doesn’t pay, but these days that’s not strictly true, as yet another “hot felon” shoots to fame. Criminal behavior has never looked so good…

In 2014, Jeremy Meeks was arrested during a gang sweep in California. Then 30-years-old, he was convicted on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and grand theft and sent to prison for 27 months. During his arrest, the police department uploaded his mugshot to their Facebook page. However, rather than become a pitiful example to other would-be criminals, Meeks became a household name after the snapshot went viral.

Dubbed “hot felon”, Meeks had hearts racing across the globe, prompting him to be signed to a modeling contract whilst still incarcerated. Upon his release in 2016, he was featured in magazine spreads internationally with Vogue calling him a “buff bad boy”.

The following year he made his catwalk debut at New York Fashion Week and was then quickly seen strutting his stuff at Milan Fashion Week. However, more notable than his fashion feats is his blossoming romance with Topshop heiress, Chloe Green, whom he started dating this summer despite being married with children.

Meeks’ rags to riches lifestyle has inspired many to scour police department Facebook pages in pursuit of the latest talent. They didn’t have to wait long, as this week a new “hot felon” was found…

Mirella Ponce was arrested after police found a loaded gun in her car, in which she was traveling with her child. The 20-year-old faces charges for carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a stolen firearm. Ponce, from California, is part of the Tiny Rascal Gang, a predominantly  Cambodian-American gang which was formed in the 1980s.

The gang is considered to be the largest ethnically focused Asian-American criminal organization in the United States. It is estimated that there are 10,000 members in the gang, which operates in California.

Gang violence and crime aside, it cannot be denied that Ponce certainly has something about her which Hollywood or the modeling industry may find appealing. From her pitch black hair to her quirky tattoos – one of which reads “love is pain” – she has a unique look that may see talent agents come calling.

“The only crime she committed was stealing my heart,” wrote one commenter on the post. While another user asked, “how much is the bail I’ll pay it”.

“Ima just go bail her out. Free this hot gangster chick (sic),” wrote another. Since being uploaded, the post has attracted 4,000 shares and thousands of comments, a majority of which support Ponce’s release – regardless of her criminal activity.

Meanwhile, it is important to never commit a crime. If you are an aspiring actress, or model, struggling to break into the industry, there are far more intelligent ways to do it than toting a gun in the street!

Don’t forget about Jeremy Meeks, the original “hot felon”. Despite having been released from jail and on a new path, the former-criminal is still up to his old tricks. This time, he is stealing the heart of a billionaire’s daughter…
