20 Dec ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Finally Answers The Burning Questions We All Have About THAT Sex Scene
Game of Thrones is synonymous with sex. The makers of the show have had no qualms about showing romping on screen and this has resulted in some very controversial content featuring incest and rape, but, thankfully, there’s also sex between lovers too.
The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros is often a brutal place and fans of the show were left extremely confused when the commander of the Unsullied, Grey Worm, finally consummated his relationship with Daenerys’ confidant, Missandei, despite being a eunuch.
In case you’re wondering, a eunuch is a man who has been castrated, which left fans wondering if Grey Worm had a penis at all.
That scene took place in episode two of season seven. Prior to going into a potentially deadly battle at Casterly Rock, Grey Worm and Missandei finally acted upon the sexual tension which has been building between them since they met with a kiss.
However, before things go any further, Grey Worm hesitates, knowing that his manhood is not in its natural state. Whilst it’s not explicitly said on the show to what extent the Unsullied have been mutilated, in George R.R. Martin’s books they have been castrated “root and stem”.
At the time of its airing, Merriam-Webster tweeted that eunuch was their most searched word as fans tried to work out what was going on.
Now, Nathalie Emmanuel, the actress who plays Missandei, has opened up about this extremely baffling scene and answering the one question on all of our minds (and more) in an interview with Entertainment Weekly – how on Earth were they able to have sex if Grey Worm has no junk?!
After all, it has been made clear on the show that eunuchs are unable to feel sexual desire or arousal.
