18 Dec An Entire Family Of Four Have All Revealed That They Identify As Transgender

Every family has their own individual dynamic which anybody not affiliated by blood can find quite hard to understand. It is this unique identity that you’re reluctant to acknowledge or extremely proud of. For Daniel Harrott, it’s the latter.

The 41-year-old, whose entire family identify as transgender, is now happier than ever after choosing to transition to a man after living most of his life as a woman.

Despite having given birth to two children, Harrott knew something was missing from his life. But, unaware of what transgender was, he suppressed the fraudulent feelings that arose every time he wore women’s clothes and makeup.

However, that changed one day when his son, 13-year-old Joshua, who now identifies as a girl, asked to join Girl Scouts. Unsure if this was possible, Harrott, from Queen Creek, Arizona, began to investigate the possibilities and in doing so, he learned what it was to be transgender.

“When I finally looked it up, and I realized, ‘Oh my gosh, they’re trans, and I know it’s true – because I am, too, and it’s been my whole life,’” Harrott told KJZZ.

Quickly, Harrott realized that both his children, Joshua and his 11-year-old sister, Mason, who now identifies as a boy, were transgender. Not only that, but he saw that he had been lying to himself by living as a woman.

When both of his children acknowledged that they were transgender, Harrott knew he’d need to support them, but he also knew he’d need to make drastic changes to his own life. So, he cut his hair and went shopping in the men’s section. “I opened my eyes, looked in that dressing room mirror and went, ‘Oh this is it. This is perfect. This is me,’” he said.
