27 Nov Twitter Is Mocking Amir Khan For His ‘Shamelessly’ Ignorant And Sexist Comments

Amir Khan may be a silver medal-winning athlete, with an impressive fight record during his professional boxing career. But, what most of us didn’t realize while watching him in the ring was that he apparently isn’t the brightest bulb in the box. In fact, in recent episodes on the popular British reality TV show, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! he has shown himself to be extremely ignorant.

Firstly, fans were left pretty bemused when Amir claimed to know nothing about the famous Bushtucker Trials, a main element of the reality show. But, while this can be excused, his ignorance in other areas cannot be so easily forgiven.

In a further embarrassment for the 30-year-old boxer, it became immediately apparent that he didn’t have a clue who the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is, after a series of clueless comments he made live on last nights show.

In the most recent episode, fellow campmate and Made In Chelsea star, Georgia Toffolo was appointed as the jungle’s prime minister. Clearly oblivious to the history of his country the Bolton born boxer asked, “Has a woman ever become Prime Minister?”

As his campmates grimaced at the former world champion’s ignorance, he suddenly realized that he’d made a big mistake. “Oh, Margaret Thatcher. S**t!” he said quickly, probably hoping he’d redeemed himself. But, it was about to get worse.

He still hadn’t clocked onto the fact that Britain currently has a female Prime Minister in the form of Theresa May, who has been leading the UK for over a year.

Many fans of the show expressed their amusement and also disbelief that someone could be so ignorant about the country in which he was born and raised.

To add further insult to injury, Khan went on to make a sexist remark. Fans weren’t too impressed by the fact that he called Toff, who is a 23-year-old woman, a “little girl” when referring to her Kung Fu skills.

“She moved quite well and she was kicking really high for a small little girl, lots of energy, lots of movement and her balance was really good,” he said.
