This time last year, we were mourning our favorite stars as they became victims of the premature celebrity death epidemic which swept through the entertainment industry. From Prince and David Bowie to Alan Rickman and Carrie Fisher, no star was safe in 2016.

Now, a year later, Hollywood is rebuilding itself as high-profile pregnancies hit the headlines on an almost daily basis. Beyonce and Jay-Z, Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne, and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot are only a few of the stars to become parents this year.

This sudden baby boom has whipped the paparazzi into a frenzy as they stalk the streets of Tinsel Town in pursuit of an exposed baby bump.

With all their attention devoted to the Kardashian clan (Kim and Kanye are expecting their third child via surrogate, while Kylie and Khloe are rumored to be with child), they missed the expanding tummy of 31-year-old Chrissy Teigen.

The model turned cookbook queen flaunted her body in plain sight and yet nobody assumed that anything was unusual with her usually slender frame. It wasn’t until she explicitly revealed her bulging belly that people realized she was pregnant.

Teigen is famous for her comedic wit online. So, naturally, when she announced that she was expecting her second child with husband, John Legend, she did it in the most Chrissy Teigen way possible.

“It’s John’s,” she captioned an Instagram video, which features their 19-month-old daughter, Luna, adorably announcing the news.

“Luna! What’s in here?” asks Teigen, as Luna pokes and prods her bare belly. “A baby,” the toothy toddler says, through a mouth full of dribble as a chorus of “awws” echo in the background.
