Christian Bale is a very dedicated actor who always immerses himself fully into any role he takes on especially when it comes to physically transforming into the character he is playing.

He is known for his discipline when it comes to both losing weight and getting fitter for a movie role.

Famously, he lost an impressive 65 lbs and was said to constrict himself to only an apple and can of tuna a day for his role in The Machinist. On the other hand, who could forget how ripped he became after spending hours at the gym in preparation for his roles in American Psycho and the Dark Knight movies?

And we saw from his transformation for the movie American Hustle that he is also a dab hand at gaining weight – and a lot of it too.

However, he confessed back in 2013 that now that he’s older, it has become a lot more of an uphill battle when it comes to transforming his body.

“I thought I was going to lose the weight I gained for American Hustle. I said, two months, flat, that’ll do it. I was 185 and I went up to 228 for it. And I’m still working that off! It’s almost six months later,” he told USA Today. “Now, I know that when I was in my early twenties it would have been two months and that’s it.”

Well, it looks like the critically acclaimed actor is back to piling on the weight with a brand new movie role!

In fact, just yesterday Christian Bale stepped out in LA looking thicker than usual while filming upcoming biopic Backseat, in which he plays former Vice President Dick Cheney. In fact, his figure was so much fuller than usual that he was completely unrecognizable!

The Dark Knight star was filmed on the set of the movie, clad in a grey suit while his assistants helped to adjust his microphone.
