Playboy Responds To The Hate They Have Received After Placing A Transgender Model In The Magazine

It may sound bizarre, but there is no stronger confirmation that the world is changing than with the placement of a transgender model on Playboy‘s prestigious centerfold.

The magazine which is notorious for its raunchy photoshoots, depicting women in various states of undress, caused outrage with fans after they made the controversial decision to book transgender model, Ines Rau.

Rau made history by becoming the first transgender Playmate for Playboy, a magazine marketed at straight men. However, this groundbreaking move has seen the magazine come under fire from fans, who are threatening to cancel their subscriptions…

Rau is making waves in the modeling industry. Her striking good looks have seen her land a campaign with luxury fashion house, Balmain and a feature in Vogue Italia.

The 26-year-old, who bears more than a passing resemblance to reality star, Kim Kardashian, stated that being asked to be a Playmate was “the most beautiful compliment” she’d ever received.

“When I was doing this shoot, I was thinking of all those hard days in my childhood,” she said, continuing to explain: “nudity means a lot to me since I went through a transition to get where I want to be and now everything happening gives me so much joy and happiness.”

Rau features in the November/December issue, which is the first since the death of Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner. The 100-page issue pays tribute to the late star, who passed away in September this year.
