President Trump and the First Lady are no strangers to plagiarism accusations. During Tump’s presidential campaign, his wife Melania was famously accused of stealing her United Nations speech from the then-First Lady Michelle Obama.

This was because a number of lines appeared to have been lifted verbatim from a speech Michelle gave at the 2008 Democratic convention – an act made all the more ironic by the fact that Melania was speaking on behalf of the Republican Party.

America is sadly also no stranger to mass shootings. In October of this year, the most deadly mass shooting in US history took place when a lone gunman opened fire on a crowd of revellers at a music festival in Las Vegas, killing 58 people.

Despite the fact that this tragedy sent shockwaves around the world, mass shootings have shown no signs of letting up, and the world was shocked once again this month when 26 people were brutally killed during a church service in Texas.

In difficult times like these, American citizens look to the president to provide them with hope and guidance. Whilst there have been international calls for our gun laws to be changed, Trump has shown no signs of even considering the issue.

This is a reflection of the will of the American people; the majority of whom remain committed to the second amendment.

The most recent American mass shooting happened just yesterday when a lone gunman opened fire on a remote community in Northern California after trying and failing to enter a local elementary school.
