I’ve always been very careful with my money, mainly because I grew up with the kind of mother who was very reluctant to spend a penny on pretty much anything. When I was a kid, she would make me take a bath with dirty laundry and detergent. There’s being thrifty, and then there’s being ridiculous.

Hell, once she picked up old Starbucks cups from the floor and placed them on the table, just so we could sit inside and rest without having to buy a drink.

Although I kinda appreciate it now, it was very grating when I was a teen. Now that I’m a young adult, I’ve learnt not to buy things simply for the heck of it. However, if on the off chance I was given permission to make an extravagant purchase at someone else’s expense, that would be an entirely different story.

Imagine this: someone offers for you to use their credit to buy literally anything you want. Would do you do it? Because I know someone who would.

Her name is Leagan and she is a Twitter user from Lubbock, Texas. Very recently, Leagan turned down a guy who asked her on a date – fair enough. But what she did afterwards is pretty insane and very, very daring.

But before I let you in on the story, you should know that the guy in question wasn’t ready to give up without a fight. He was seriously interested in getting with this girl, so he did something that he’ll probably regret for years to come.

He offered Leagan his credit card and gave her full permission to buy anything she wanted, and I mean anything.

Now, if I had been in Leagan’s position, I probably would have been too responsible to accept the guy’s oh-so generous offer. I would constantly be thinking, “could I get into some kind of trouble if I went on a spending spree for ‘anything my heart desires’?”

Leagan, on the other hand, will do as she pleases, especially if she’s been given written permission to do so. So, she decided to indulge in her new source of income and purchase… a bouncy castle!
