Spiders are undeniably some of the most fear-inducing creatures on our planet. Despite the fact that a lot of them are relatively harmless, us humans have remained very wary of them.

Perhaps it has a little something to do with the fact that they’re dark, have eight legs, are generally quite hairy and have an unnerving ability to crawl around slyly and undetected. Let’s face it, they’re not exactly cute and cuddly, which is why they are linked to the nation’s creepiest holiday, Halloween.

Those who are entirely unafraid of spiders are very few and far between. No matter how tiny they are, most of us remain just a little suspicious of them.

But the truth is, spiders are actually majestic creatures with a rich and diverse history, just like us humans. Plus there are a wide range of unique and extraordinary spider species across all corners of the planet.

One Chinese farmer by the name of Li Wenhua came to discover a very obscure and rare species of spider living on his orange farm in Pujiang village near Chengdu, south-west China. Initially the farmer believed he was looking at an ancient artifact, however, upon closer inspection, he realized it was a living spider!
The very first thing he did when he made the discovery was take a series of snaps of the rare creature. The farmer then decided to show it to his neighbors so they could see it for themselves. When they saw the creature, they stood in utter shock and amazement.
 Li Wenhua had often come across a diverse range of creatures around the farm, but never had he and his family laid their eyes on something so spectacular!
