21 Sep HBO Has Announced That They Are Making A Fifth ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel
Season seven of Game of Thrones might have drawn to a close, but the show has still been hitting the headlines almost every day. Fans can’t help but speculate about what’s going to happen next, even though season eight hasn’t even begun filming yet.
However, I’m not here to tell you about another fan theory. Instead, I’m going to give you some actual solid information about a fifth prequel. The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros is a big place, and I for one want to know more about its history!
Whilst it’s common knowledge that four prequels are currently in the works, HBO has now officially announced that there is going to be a fifth. Although this was actually originally revealed by George R.R. Martin himself back in May when he said that a fifth writer had been recruited.
In reference to the then-anonymous writer, Martin said, “I don’t know anyone who knows and loves Westeros as well as he does.”
The writer Martin was talking about is Bryan Cogman. If the name sounds familiar to you, that’s because he’s been a part of the series since season one, writing a number of episodes including episode two of season seven ‘Stormborn’.
The other four writers who will be working on prequels are Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Brian Helgeland (Legend), and Carly Wray (Mad Men, The Leftovers).
Here’s what we know about what these prequels might be like so far…
