Artist Captures the Unique Beauty of Albino People

While albinism is an extremely rare congenital disorder, one in 17,000 are affected – a fair amount for a world with a population of eight billion. Despite this, it is not often that you see those with the absence of pigment in the media, whether it’s music, television or film. And it is definitely not something that turns up in fashion and photography that often.

This was something that photographer Yulia Taits wanted to change when she took a series of photographs of albino people for her latest project. She wanted to capture the natural beauty of albino people, with all the photos taken in white tones with no additional coloring. “I’m excited to prove that white is not just one color,” she wrote, “It has many tints, shades and beautiful tones.” You can see the results of her photography below, in all its natural glory.
