18 Sep Artist Responds To Trump’s ‘Sexist’ Directive By Drawing Women’s Clothing On The President
President Trump is no stranger to controversy, and he has made a number of comments that some have deemed to be sexist. In February, the Oval Office issued a White House directive aimed at female employees which incited widespread outrage.
According to this directive, female White House employees should “dress like a woman” for work.
Stereotypical notions of what men and women should wear fail to take into consideration the fact that gender exists on a spectrum – more so than ever in 2017 – and many do not identify with the clothing associated with their assigned gender at birth. Whatever your personal opinion is on this matter, these individuals should be shown the respect they deserve and be allowed to identify as they please and wear whatever they like.
And let’s face it, high heels aren’t comfortable, and no one wants sore feet to distract them from doing their job.
Jet Nijkamp is an Amsterdam-based artist who took offence to President Trump’s White House Directive. That’s why he created a series of drawings entitled ‘Dress Like A Woman’, depicting what he believes the president wants women to dress like.
Whether you’re a Trump fan or not, I think everybody can find enjoyment in these illustrations:
1. Hugh Hefner’s latest centrefold…
2. Couples that slay together stay together…
3. Sissy that walk, Mr President…
4. President Trump’s least likely headwear really suits him…
These drawings were first exhibited at the Nasty Woman Exhibition, Amsterdam. Proceeds from this exhibition were donated to a number of women’s charities including Planned Parenthood, which President Trump has openly opposed.
