01 Jul Giant Crabs Invade an Airport Baggage Claim Carousel after Escaping Container
Traveling is an infinitely stressful business, and I’ve certainly had my fair share of inconvenience at the hands of the airlines of the world. My most infamous voyaging experience is definitely the time that me and a friend missed our connection after our flight was delayed by 12 hours.
Your first thought would be that we would just be popped on another plane as soon as possible, but you couldn’t be more mistaken. We were forced to assume the bracing position, buckle up tight and get comfy. We were stuck in Hazrat Shahjalal International airport in Dhaka for the next two days.
Roughly 42 hours, several platefuls of abysmal airport food, a couple of extremely uncomfortable showering experiences in the airport toilet and one raving tantrum later, we finally made it to our destination, albeit more than a little battered and bruised from our brush with airport politics.
But despite this less than desirable experience, I have to admit I’ve never come across any live animals in my time. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for passengers who were left shrieking in horror as giant crabs flooded the airport baggage claim carousel when they were collecting their bags at an unidentified airport last week.
