01 Jul World War II Veteran Goes into Surgery, Doctors Make Incredible Discovery
By this point in time, there are no more veterans of the First World War for us to celebrate and pay our respects to in person. The last living veteran was Florence Green, a British woman who served in the armed forces. She died on February 4, 2012 at the age of 110.
But when it comes to those who survived World War II, we still have some to appreciate and support. There were up to 85 million fatalities as a result of the war in its six-year period. Last year, a study revealed that an estimated 372 American World War II veterans die every day. And according to the Department of Veterans Affairs, around 500,000 American veterans are still alive as of 2017.
One of these brave ex-soldiers is Baltabay Kaziev, from Kazakhstan. In this case he may have been done with the war, but the war wasn’t done with him. According to CEN, when Kaziev was put under the knife for a surgery, a shocking discovery was made within the body of the now 92-year-old veteran.
