14 Jun BREAKING: Nursery Worker is Stabbed on Busy London High Street by Three Girls
A nursery school worker has reportedly been slashed by three other woman wielding a knife while walking down a busy high street in London.
Karrien Stevens, the owner of the Little Diamonds nursery in Hermon Hill, London, confirmed today that a member of her staff, in her 30s, was attacked and viciously knifed by three women while on her morning commute to work.
Parents of children attending the kindergarten were informed via email that the nursery school was currently on “lockdown” as a result of the serious injuries the victim sustained at approximately 9.30am while travelling down Wanstead High Street, northeast London.
Stevens stated that the staff member was saved when a bystander intervened in the incident and drove the attackers off. “When she got to work we couldn’t believe it and called the police straight away. It’s terrible, I’m absolutely horrified,” she stated. “‘You don’t expect something like this to happen on your doorstep.”
The London Metropolitan police have since confirmed that the knifing did take place as the reported time, but have stated that they are not treating the assault as a terrorist incident and that no arrests have yet been made. A local police spokesman stated “The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command has been made aware of the incident but is not investigating at this time.”
A spokesperson for the London ambulance added: “We sent an ambulance crew to the scene, arriving in under six minutes. We treated a woman and the scene and took her to a hospital in East London.”
