14 Jun The Guy Who Went Viral With the Insane Water Slide Trick Explains How He Did it
Earlier this month a video went viral, causing as much wonder as it did confusion. In the video, a man slides down a waterslide into a pool of water, but it was what he did upon contact with the water that sent shockwaves throughout the internet.
The video gained internet fame after it was posted by Morgan Evick on Twitter along with the caption: “Slidin’ (literally) into the DM’s like…..”. By this point the tweet has gone viral, amassing over 80,000 retweets and 150,000 likes in less than a week.
In the short clip, which is only nine seconds long, we can see that when the man hits the water he remains seated, skidding across the surface of the water in a striking way. When he gets to the edge of the pool he uses his momentum to stand up and casually walk away from the feat like it was no big deal.
My first response to seeing the video was absolute amazement. The second time I wondered how he managed to do it. After that point, I started to suspect that there was some skillful editing going on. I wasn’t alone, as a lot of the internet believed that the remarkable feat must have been a result of some video trickery.
