08 Aug News Presenter Dies Inside While Introducing ‘Surfing Dogs’ Segment
While the majority of office jobs are fairly mundane from day to day, being a newscaster sounds like it would be tons of fun. You get to cover a number of stories from all over your region, and offer your take on what’s going on in the world at the moment.
However, there can be periods of slow news, and when that happens, anchors can be forced to report on fluff pieces that perhaps wouldn’t be covered at other periods in the year.
On the BBC earlier this week, presenter Simon McCoy found himself talking about a segment involving surfing dogs. Needless to say, it wasn’t quite his cup of tea, but he was on air, and he knew that he’d have to do his job, regardless of the content.
What followed was an extraordinary display of the endless potential of human apathy. McCoy performed his duties, sure, but the BBC cameras were on hand to watch this newscaster die from the inside out.
