When you’re 91 years old, essentially cosplaying as a monarch in a world where banks and debts are the new pistol and ball, what is there to do but drink? You’re just dragged from one event to the next, you don’t have to do much of anything, you’re armed only with a birthright and an image, and saddled with those two things, it makes sense to take it slow and be drunk most of the time.

The Queen of England is drunk for at least half the day. Here’s her regimen:

Before lunch, she’ll drink a gin and Dubonnet with lemon and lots of ice. Of course, she wakes up, eats breakfast, and has that cocktail. Next? A glass of wine with lunch.
