On 20th July, Chester Bennington was found dead inside a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles.
Since the news broke, there has been an outpouring of grief and sadness from Linkin Park fans all over the world, struggling to come to terms with the singer’s sudden and untimely passing.
Linkin Park played a significant role in the formative years of many with their emotionally charged brand of nu-metal, and Chester Bennington’s searing vocal hooks became a trademark of the band’s success.
The singer’s long struggle with mental illness was well documented, indeed Bennington had spoken openly and with candour on the subject on many occasions. After his body was discovered, a LA coroner ascertained that the singer had hanged himself. In a statement, his Linkin Park bandmates described the impact he had had on the lives of so many;
“You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private, from around the world.”
Now, in the wake of Bennington’s private funeral, which was reportedly held at the weekend, one Linkin Park fan has paid tribute to the late singer in a beautifully creative fashion.
