03 Aug Soldier Left With ‘Gaping Hole’ In His Leg After Getting Bitten By The UK’s Most Venomous Spider

If you’re anything like 90 per cent of the population, you’re absolutely terrified, nay, debilitated by the sight of a spider.

The hairy eight-legged creatures, which I believe to be no more than vermin, frequently terrorise us in the summer months. Certainly, there is nothing worse than arriving home on a balmy July day only to be greeted by such an unsavoury looking visitor. Personally, I do not have the best reaction to such a sight; I normally resort to banging on my neighbour’s door or imploring my friends to come over to rescue me from the terror…

It’s safe to say that this does not tend to go down well.

However, we do have to admit that we rest easier at night with the knowledge that we live in England, where the chances of getting bitten by a poisonous spider are incredibly low. Well that is until today as it has surfaced that a soldier was left with a “gaping hole” in his leg after being bitten by the UK’s most venomous spider.

Guess I’m going to be having nightmares tonight…
