03 Aug Domestic Abuse Victim Reveals Chilling Texts From The Husband Who Beat Her

A relationship that is physically, emotionally, sexually, or economically abusive can be unfathomably difficult to get out of. A victim of domestic abuse may have friends or family who say “why don’t you just leave?”, but it is rarely that simple. That is why one woman who escaped an abusive relationship has shared her story online, hoping that those who are currently victims of domestic abuse may read it and find the strength they need to do the same.

The woman, under the username KrissyKross, posted screenshots on Imgur of some of the many texts she received from her ex-husband, who had become controlling and abusive toward the end of their marriage. She says that had been “a kind, loving man” until she lost a large amount of weight and got a job, and he began accusing her of having an affair with a colleague, Tony. From then on, her ex-husband began physically, emotionally, and sexually abusing her.

KrissyKross says that a string of texts like the one below is “a good example” of the types of messages she would receive while at work, when she was not allowed to be on her phone. Her ex-husband’s controlling nature is noticeable, showing the first signs of future abuse.

Her ex-husband consistently accused of cheating with Tony, a notion that she says he had no reason to believe. When in a fight he turned the blame on her, as is common in abusive relationships, saying “you always provoke me”.
