Trump Has Removed Anthony Scaramucci From Role As Communications Director

The White House has announced that President Trump has removed Anthony Scaramucci from his position as Communications Director. Scaramucci’s rather abrupt removal came just 10 days after he was hired to join the West Wing staff.

It was reported that just days before his ousting, Scaramucci fired a ‘crude verbal tirade’ at several senior members of Trump’s staff.

The wealthy New York financier’s arrival is rumoured to have led to the departures of Sean Spicer, the former press secretary, and Reince Priebus, the president’s first chief of staff.

Despite the seemingly chaotic White House internal affairs, Trump this morning tweeted to deny any such thing:

The Mooch had boasted about reporting to the President directly, rather than the Chief of Staff, however it is reported that the decision to remove him from office came at Mr. Kelly’s request.

It is not yet clear whether or not the short-lived Communications Director will remain in The White House in an alternate position or if he’ll be removed altogether. For the mean time, it seems an apt time to re-enjoy this opening monologue to The Late Show by Stephen Colbert.

This move suggests that, at least for the time being, Mr. Kelly has the President’s support in his efforts to assert his authority over the operations of the White House.
