Ah, where does one begin when it comes to the immaculate human being that is Michelle Obama? Some might choose to focus on the time she spent being the ideal First Lady, but others, like me, tend to focus on all of her many achievements, which include her commitment to the advancement of women’s rights, her humanitarian efforts and of course, her dedication to having perfectly toned arms.

Whilst the majority of us meagre mortals might feel intimidated by looking at Obama’s repertoire of success, she constantly proves herself to be down-to-earth. Something that is no mean feat considering that she is a Harvard University graduate, a licensed lawyer and married to the 44th President of the United States. One only need look at her interactions with her two daughters, Sasha and Malia; whether she’s getting as excited as the two youngsters about attending a Beyonce concert or living it up with them in Morocco, it’s evident that Michelle doesn’t let the title of First Lady get in the way of being a mother.

In fact, Michelle has always appeared to be incredibly family orientated, something that was evident during her stint in the White House when her mother, Marian Robinson moved in with the Obamas in 2009 and stayed there throughout Barack Obama’s tenure as President.

Michelle broadcasted her close relationship with her mother this past weekend when she took to Twitter to post a touching birthday message to the former “first-granny”.
