We’ve all been caught in a compromising situation at some point in our lives. I remember as a young child being caught by my friends singing along to David Cassidy songs, something that I have never lived down.

A lot of us are lucky that the myriad embarrassing and horrendously awkward things we did or said in our teenage years were at a time when the internet wasn’t at its peak. Being a teenager in 2017 means that any of your weirdest moments could end up on a number of social media platforms, from Facebook to Twitter to Snapchat.

I think most people have forgotten my embarrassing incident by now, but I know it still lingers in my mind now and then, giving me second-hand embarrassment for the stranger that was my teenage self. Yet at least I know that it won’t go further than that, as there was no iPhones to whip out and capture the moment forever. Unfortunately for one girl, she’ll never be able to live her strange moment down for years to come.
