In any healthy relationship, it’s important for the parties in that relationship to be able to share a joke. Sure, there will be times for serious and frank discussions, but laughter is equally important in helping the tough times go by.

Beside laughing with one another, some couples may even decide to make fun of each other, making jokes or pranks at their partner’s expense. In an incident on a cruise ship off the coast of Alaska, however, laughter between a married couple led to a wife’s untimely death at the hands of her murderous husband.

On an Emerald Princess Cruise, Kristy and Kenneth Manzanares from Utah boarded a vessel headed for Alaska. By the end of the cruise, Kristy was dead, and her husband was in handcuffs. When asked by a witness why he had killed his wife, Manzanares had a simple response: “she would not stop laughing at me”.
