Everyone has a travel horror story. People have missed their best friend’s weddings due to cancelled flights or terrible weather conditions, but in most cases, people only have their own shoddy time-keeping to blame for their travel disasters. Now, I don’t know about you, but I am notorious for missing connections, especially when I have an important engagement to make. I do, however, think that my tendency to miss trains, flights, ferries, you name it, has something to do with my belief that commuting brings out the worst in humanity. I mean, I have never sat next to anyone who showed any semblance of social skills; they always suffer from one of three ailments: terrible hygiene, an inability to stop talking, or to everyone’s absolute frustration, insist on using both arm-rests.

I thought that I had seen everything, that is until I saw a picture of what one woman endured on her last flight and boy, did it make my experiences look peachy.
