There are thousands of identified phobias at this point, but every once in a while a new one pops up that we’ve never heard of before. These discoveries lead us to wonder… do we have that? Sure, we may be harbouring some of the commons ones like claustrophobia or arachnophobia, but is there a phobia that would explain why that one thing always inexplicably freaks us out?

If that’s what you were hoping to find here, an unknown phobia to make you feel unique, then I’m sorry to disappoint. This phobia is so common that if you don’t have it, I’d be willing to bet that a close friend or family member does. Although this fear has been the base of many horror movie plots, it has rarely been talked about until now, and might explain why there’s one setting in which you always panic.
