25 Jul Woman Found Guilty Of Murder After Parrot Acts As Witness
For some reason or another, there aren’t many video games involving lawyers. If you want to be a lawyer without all the studying, tuition fees or preparation, you’re pretty much limited to playing as Phoenix Wright in one of the Ace Attorney games for the Game Boy Advance. It’s a pretty ridiculous series of games.
You can tell people are lying or glean information through a complicated series of mystical items, and scream anime-style accusations between lawyers in front of an increasingly confused judge. By far the weirdest thing I’ve come across in the games, though, is the mission wherein you have to prove your client innocent with the help of a parrot’s witness testimony.
However, as we all know, truth can be even stranger than fiction, and perhaps one of the strangest exchanges in video game history has been replicated, in a bizarre example of art imitating life. Glenna Duram has just been found guilty of the first-degree murder of her husband out in Michigan, but the prosecution’s case was significantly helped by the testimony of their pet parrot.
