Police Officer Gets Pulled Over For Drink Driving, Tries To Escape Using Her Badge

A police officer from New Jersey who was arrested for drunk driving last year, was caught on camera trying to use her police badge to get her out of trouble. Stephanie Roggina, a Scotch Plains Police Department Officer, can be seen leading the police on a short pursuit in Flemington in August 2016. The footage has taken a year to uncover due to an ongoing lawsuit in which local news company, The Trentonian, has had to sue the police department in order to get access to the tape.

In the footage below, recorded on a Readington police officer’s dashcam, Roggina can be seen swerving all over the road and almost crashing into a guardrail before she eventually pulls over and puts a halt to the pursuit. However, rather than just accept her fate and admit her mistakes, Stephanie bizarrely starts saying she’s a cop and tries to make conversation with the other officer, asking him if he knows Brian. She can be heard saying, “I’m a cop. I work in Scotch Plain. My number is 140.” However, the arresting officer in the footage doesn’t buy it and schools her, saying “Well then, you should know better, right?”
