Listen To Chester Bennington’s Heartbreakingly Beautiful Isolated Vocals From ‘Numb’

As fans across the world continue to reel from the death of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, many are looking back on his life and music in order to remember the memorable moments he created as a performer. Having sold over 70 million albums with Linkin Park, Chester’s voice was heard across the world from the moment the band from Agoura Hills, California leapt unto the music scene in 2000 with smash hit Hybrid Theory. Their debut album alone has been certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) – an indication of over 10 million copies sold in the US alone, as well as being declared multi-platinum in several other countries. In addition to huge commercial success, Hybrid Theory also spawned Crawling – the second single released from the album. Crawling took home the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002.

It is likely that fans will get a chance to relive Linkin Park’s classics in an upcoming episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series. Chester, along with bandmates Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn, filmed some scenes for the programme with Ken Jeong (of Dr. Ken and Community fame) days before the singer’s body was discovered at his California home.

Among the notable hits fans will remember from Chester’s time with Linkin Park are several songs from the band’s sophomore offering Meteora. Despite having Hybrid Theory as a tough act to follow, Meteora held its own and has sold over 27 million copies worldwide, including being declared four times platinum by the RIAA. Singles released from this album include Somewhere I Belong, Faint, From the Inside and Numb.
