23 Jul An ISIS Militant Dressed Up As A Woman To Try And Escape Mosul
Certain criminal masterminds have really distinguished themselves across the ages. When I think of people who have really excelled as masters of deception – for better or worse – I always think of the Great Escape from Alcatraz. Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, and Frank Morris managed to break out of Alcatraz in June 1962, leaving papier-mache heads behind to fool guards. Many believe they did not survive the escape attempt, but their bodies were never found.
However, not everyone is a master of disguise and deception. Take, for example, late Nigerian politician Diepreye Alamieyeseigha who allegedly dressed up as a woman to escape the UK where he was facing money laundering charges for the sum of £1.8 million. The exact nature of Alamieyeseigha’s return to Nigeria was never confirmed but many wonder how he left a country in which he was wanted on serious charges. On one hand, the disguise appears to have been successful if he managed to skip town. However, if everyone knows you wore a disguise and it becomes a running joke, you’ve hardly managed to achieve stealth, have you?
