Checking onto a flight is possibly the most boring and annoying task that we are graced with in the modern era. Don’t get me wrong, aviation is an impressive miracle, but we can’t help but huff and puff when the airline is late to board or the employees start walking around forcing people to check their bags for unsolicited items. But one Australian airline passenger named Dean refused to be sucked into the vortex of frustration, and knew that one hilariously silly act would bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

While everyone else agonizes over fitting enough sweaters into their luggage, Dean knows that there’s only one piece of luggage worth taking such good care of: alcohol.

When getting on his Qantas flight from Melbourne to Perth, Dean decided to check a can of his beloved Emu Export Lager onto his flight, wishing for it to travel with the other precious cargo in the lower carriage of the plane. Somewhat surprisingly, the ground staff complied, and put the can of beer down with the rest of the luggage before welcoming Dean onboard.

A man whose priorities are more in line than anyone we’ve ever met, Dean revealed where he found the inspiration for this hilarious stunt:

“One of my mates works at the airport and he and I were wondering what I could check as luggage and get away with – a single deodorant can was another idea – but the export can was way more iconic so I went with that. Honestly the thought of a single can of export making its way down the baggage carousel was too good to pass up so I thought I’d give it a whirl.”
