11 Jul Volvo Announces They Will Only Make Electric Or Hybrid Vehicles From 2019
In our concerted efforts to curb the effects of climate change and limit the damage caused by harmful carbon emissions and greenhouse gases, car manufacturers have created both hybrid and electric vehicles. One of the most popular types of hybrid vehicle is the Toyota Prius (which debuted in 1997), and in recent times the Tesla automobile has provided a fully electric alternative to the traditional gas-powered car.
If you live in a big city, you may have noticed electric cars charging in parking bays along your travels; but for the most part, the technology is a long way from overtaking diesel or petrol cars as the default vehicle. One car company, however, have planted their flag firmly in the electric camp.
Volvo have pledged to halt production of the internal combustion car engine, and will make exclusively hybrid or electric vehicles from 2019 onwards.
