11 Jul ISIS Confirms That Their Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Is Dead
The war, currently raging in Syria and Iraq, to secure and liberate territory currently held by ISIS is potentially the most crucial conflict of the 21st century. As long as the middle East remains occupied by this faction of insurgents, the local populace will remain oppressed and subjugated, and the Western world will only suffer more violence against innocent people at the hands of suicide bombers and other mass-murderers.
This week however, ISIS suffered a catastrophic loss. After months of intense combat, the National Iraqi army has managed to finally wrest control of the city of Mosul from the hands of terrorist cells. Although the group is far from defeated, it’s clear that they’re now on the back foot.
As if that wasn’t bad enough for them, ISIS has now officially confirmed that their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is dead. The Al Sumaria TV channel reported that a source within the jihadist terrorist organisation has confirmed that their leader has perished. His death apparently occurred within the Iraqi province of Nineveh. The news channel added that al-Baghdadi’s successor will likely be named in days to come.
