05 Jul Chinese Vlogger Accidentally Poisons Herself Whilst on a Livestream

This Chinese vlogger’s video got plenty of views, but not for the reason she probably was hoping for.

Ms. Zhang, a 26-year-old “internet host”, has been attempting to show her viewers the health benefits of eating Aloe Vera in a video she titled her “Aloe Vera Feast”. Unfortunately for Zhang, the plant she bit into provided anything but health benefits.

With a strikingly similar appearance to Aloe Vera, Zhang had accidentally bought Agave Americana, an extremely poisonous flowering plant from Mexico. Given the unfortunate nickname of “American Aloe”, this plant was easily mixed up by Zhang, who proceeded to eat it on her lifestream. After her first bite she began to comment on how good it tasted, and is heard saying “yum” and “this is great”. But moments later, her face changes.
