The sibling relationship is a complicated one. It’s a bond that is full of ups and downs, love and hate, and hopefully lots of laughter. Whether you’re an older or younger sibling, we can likely all agree that being younger is mostly the better position.

First of all, the older siblings had to break-in the parents by acting out, making them significantly less strict by the time the younger sibling starts actually getting in trouble. Second, the younger sibling is obviously the cute one in family photos, they get to perform the role of chubby little baby while the older sibling has buck teeth and an offensive haircut. Lastly (and perhaps more importantly), older siblings don’t have the freedom to roast their younger siblings to their desired extent, because the natural hierarchy of age would make it more abusive than funny.

This is where younger siblings truly get to shine. They can absolutely destroy their older sisters/brothers with callous jokes and pranks, and they’ll still probably never get in trouble for it. The result is usually hilarious, until you find out that the younger sibling is actually too savage to handle, and the older sibling’s feelings are this close to genuinely being hurt.
