25 Jun Teen Discovers Incredible Hack to Help Pick a Color at the Nail Salon
Nobody really talks about it, but picking out a nail color at a salon is an understatedly difficult thing to do. First of all, you’ve got to go in with some idea of what you’re looking for because if you don’t, that humungous wall of options is going to be extremely intimidating. At least if you’re thinking “red”, you can beeline to the red section and dwindle it down to 20 options rather than the initial 1 million (ok that’s an exaggeration, but that is what it feels like). Not to mention the fact that the whole time the salon’s employees are waiting on you, adding a whole new layer of intensity and pressure to choose quickly.
Once you do have it down to two or three colors, then you have to use your imagination, picturing what the colors would look like. This part is shockingly difficult, and we’ve all fallen into the unfortunate error of choosing a color that looks very different on our nails than in the bottle. But thanks to a young Snapchat genius, this problem may cease to exist.
Emma Young, an 18-year-old from Texas, was at her usual nail salon and attempting to choose a gel color. “I was looking at the nail options, and the nail salon I go to has them glued inside the book so you can’t put your finger under the nail to see how it looks,” she told Buzzfeed. Then the idea came to her to utilize the ‘sticker’ option that Snapchat provides.
