Central Park Has a Secret System to Make Sure You’ll Never Get Lost

We’ve all been there. One pleasant summer’s evening, just as the sun begins to wane, you muse that it might be a romantic and altogether pleasant notion to set out for a brisk walk.

Perhaps you need to clear your head, maybe you just want some fresh air after endless hours watching each episode of House Of Cards for the 10th time; whatever the reason, there are few things like an evening stroll to recalibrate one’s emotions.

While it might seem a rather outmoded concept to today’s technologically obsessed youth, you’re just going to have to trust me on this one; make the effort and you will not be disappointed. That is, until you’re an hour into your pleasant meandering and realise that you are hopelessly, ridiculously lost.

At this point, you might curse whichever benevolent soul recommended that you stretch your legs in the first place, as you gaze despairingly at Google Maps, which, it would seem, is rather rubbing salt into your wounds as that blue circle is depicted glowing in the middle of a large, green patch of land. Which, of course, you knew already.

If you happen to have chosen Central Park as your evening stroll location, though, fear no more, because a fascinating and scarcely known system is in place to guide you back on track.
