Woman Rumoured To Be Dead In Grenfell Tower Fire Found Alive

On June 14 this year, the United Kingdom was witness to the deadliest fire in the country since the Blitz air raids in the Second World War. In West London, the 24-storey Grenfell Tower caught fire at around 12:54am. Hundreds of firefighters equipped with 45 fire engines took a full 24 hours to finally extinguish the fires, with five fatalities confirmed and a further 74 assumed dead.

Much of the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower has focused on the poor fire safety standards or re-housing the afflicted tenants in the North Kensington block of flats, but there have also been inspired efforts to locate missing people inside Grenfell Tower who were presumed dead. Friends of Fadumo Ahmed have been searching frantically for her, even as the possibility loomed that she could be among the fatalities. Now, Fadumo has been discovered alive in a London hospital.
