06 Aug Mickey Mouse Is Left Furious After Some Disney Fan Proposes To His Wife, Minnie Mouse
When it comes to long-term relationships, no one is doing it better than Mickey and Minnie Mouse who have been happily together for over 90 years. So what’s the secret to their marriage success? Well, as it turns out, it might be a rather over-protective husband.
Even after 90 years together, it seems Minnie is still turning the heads of other men and Mickey has been forced to shoo them away. Plus, it seems Minnie can be quite taken by a bit of flattery. Case in point, she recently accepted a proposal from another man at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
It all went down at Disney’s Epcot theme park when a random tourist seems to have charmed the iconic mouse, before getting down on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage, all while Mickey looked on.
Not impressed, Mickey quickly stepped in and, despite the attempted homewrecker shouting that he was sorry, got his buddy Goofy on the scene. The pair stood up to the man and Mickey even threatened him with the ‘I’ve got my eye on you’ gesture.
Minnie, of course, played off the whole thing like nothing had happened, but it was clearly too late for that. Nobody – and I mean nobody – messes with Mickey Mouse and tries to steal his girl.
Check out Mickie’s reaction in the amazing video below:

The homewrecker turned out to be 21-year-old Disney fan Johnny Jean and the whole incident was captured on video and uploaded to Twitter by Nai Sandoval. The video has since gone viral with over 90,000 fellow Mickey and Minnie fans retweeting the clip.
Comments on the video are equally hilarious with one writing, “He just upset the most powerful mouse in America.” Johnny Jean told the Huffington Post that while he was “super shocked” when Mickey got involved, he also thought the whole interaction made the situation “so much funnier.”
“I’m just hoping I didn’t do any real damage to their relationship,” he added. So do we because no one wants to be known as the man who broke up Disney’s most popular power couple.
It should be noted that Mickey is actually quite the gentlemen and Minnie would surely never give up such an outstanding guy. Just look at the couple using sign language to tell a deaf boy who was visiting a Disney park that “It’s nice to meet you” and “I love you”.
It’s moments like this that truly make Disney the Happiest Place On Earth:

This heartwarming moment was not preplanned and it certainly meant a lot to this little boy. The boy’s trip was arranged through Olive Crest, an agency that serves over 3,500 at-risk kids and families in California, Nevada, and Washington. A spokesperson from the agency said the following to ABC News:
“The child was ecstatic after meeting the characters because he didn’t know they would speak his language. The child is typically not a hugger, so the fact that he hugged both Minnie and Mickey spoke volumes to the joy he felt.”
The boy’s family said he did have an ASL translator present, but that the encounter was not planned and that Mickey and Minnie were not briefed on the encounter in advance. Regardless, the boy’s genuine heartfelt reaction is something that could never have been planned.
The agency hopes that the video will show just how far a little love and kindness can go toward making positive lasting memories. The spokesperson added they “hope to send the message that with a little love and ‘magic,’ that you can truly make a child’s dream come true and provide them a bright memory that can last a lifetime.”
This video, which took place at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, has already been viewed more than 500,000 times on Facebook and just goes to show that the Disney magic is alive and well. Perhaps Disneyland really is the happiest place on Earth.
Mickey and Minnie sure do seem happy, at least when tourists aren’t trying to make proposals. What a romantic couple.
Fun fact: Walt Disney himself provided the voices for both of the cartoon mice until 1946, claiming he didn’t like anyone else in the roles.
However, in perhaps the most romantic bit of trivia you’ll hear today, Russi Taylor, the woman who took over and voiced later versions of Minnie Mouse married the man who later voiced Mickey, Wayne Allwine, in 1991 and were married until Wayne’s death in 2009.
What a classy couple of mice! Their relationship really is what dreams are made of. Hey Mickey, send a little bit of that Disney magic my way, would you?
