01 Aug Scientists Have Just Discovered Something Incredible Inside The Great Pyramid Of Giza

We live in a world that’s dominated by technology and feats that would have previously been consigned to the realm of science fiction are now a reality. But despite all the marvels we have created, we remain perplexed by the technology of the Ancient Egyptians – even though they existed long before the majority of humankind’s greatest discoveries, like electricity.

The pinnacle of their technology is arguably the pyramids, and one pyramid which is revered above all others is the Great Pyramid of Giza – the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, having been constructed between 2580-2560 BC. For more than 3,800 years, it was the tallest manmade structure in the world at 146.5 meters (481 feet) tall.

It was constructed over an estimated 20 year period to house the remains of the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu, and many people lost their lives during its construction – a process which has baffled even modern engineers who still struggle to understand how it was built in such a mathematically precise location long before modern technology existed.

The Great Pyramid is the most accurately aligned structure in existence and faces true north with only 3/60th of error.

Originally cased in limestone, which was destroyed during a 14th-century earthquake, the pyramid shone like a star and its light was so powerful that it could allegedly be seen from the moon. As a result, it was dubbed “Ikhet” which means the “Glorious Light”.

Another interesting feature of The Great Pyramid is that it’s the only eight-sided pyramid in Egypt.

People don’t even know how the blocks used to build it were moved because they are so large, and while some have suggested that they were rolled into place, others have concluded that there had to be alien involvement.

While the construction of such an immense structure would be reserved only for skilled workers in 2018, it has been suggested that it was built by 100,000 slaves, but modern discoveries have suggested that those who built it were, in fact, skilled.

Without pulleys, wheels, or iron tools on hand at the time, it is believed that the pyramid was created using critical path analysis methods that would have taken around 10 years to construct the pyramid from start to finish.

But despite being in existence for so long, we are still discovering new things about the Great Pyramid, and now scientists have revealed a new feature which, if I’m perfectly honest, only makes its construction even more baffling.

As if the pyramid’s exact location wasn’t already impressive enough, it’s been found that it can concentrate electric and magnetic energy in its chambers and below its base – a feature which creates pockets of higher energy in its walls.

Dr. Andrey Evlyukhin, the scientific supervisor and coordinator of the research, said:

“Egyptian pyramids have always attracted great attention. We as scientists were interested in them as well, so we decided to look at the Great Pyramid as a particle dissipating radio waves resonantly.”

For anyone out there who isn’t scientifically minded, let me simplify. It basically means that researchers from ITMO University were investigating the electromagnetic energy in the pyramid’s hidden chambers – and yes, that included the king’s tomb – and they discovered that the pyramid is able to concentrate its electromagnetic energy in them.

Still baffled? Here’s a quick explanation of what electromagnetic energy is from ScienceStuck:

“The energy source required to transmit information (in the form of waves) from one place (material) to another. This information can be in the form of light, heat, or in any other form.”

The researchers said:

“The electromagnetic energy accumulates in the chambers […] It is shown that basically the Pyramid scatters the electromagnetic waves and focuses them in to the substrate [underground] region.”

The significance of this discovery cannot be underestimated. While what it tells us about the technology of the Ancient Egyptians is impressive, it also has implications for how we could create more efficient nanoparticle designs, the Daily Mail reported.

Polina Kapitainova, a member of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of ITMO University, said:

“Choosing a material with suitable electromagnetic properties, we can obtain pyramidal nanoparticles with a promise for practical application in nanosensors and effective solar cells.”

In fact, just last year, another incredible scientific discovery was made about the Great Pyramid when scientists found that three huge adjacent stones at its base were actually warmer than those around them. Begging the question, how?!

Well, one theory is that the pyramid contains yet another secret chamber that’s yet to be discovered.

Last year, a huge void was also found in the center of the Great Pyramid above its internal grand gallery – a void which was, in short, a massive hall between two chambers. It was discovered thanks to the use of cosmic-ray imaging.

This is not the only Ancient Egyptian discovery to hit the headlines in recent weeks. A 2,000-year-old sarcophagus was recently opened in the city of Alexandria. It was a talking point among the locals who feared that it could be cursed.

Alexandria is Egypt’s second largest city, founded back in c. 332 BC by Alexander the Great, and the sarcophagus attracted a great deal of attention because – aside from the risk of it being cursed – it was believed by some that it belonged to the king.

Instead of finding a well-preserved mummy, however, archeologists were sorely disappointed when they opened the sarcophagus and found three skeletons bathing in what appeared to be blood-stained water (spoiler alert: it was sewage).

Now, while there is no doubt that modern engineering is able to create some pretty impressive feats, I think it’s safe to say that even our most advanced technology will not prove to be a source of fascination in 4,000 years time.

One thing’s for sure, there’s absolutely no telling what secrets the Ancient Egyptians are still hiding!
